The Minnesota Collegiate and U-23 All-Star season is once again upon us!
Practices begin January 31st at the St. Cloud State University Dome from 7:30am – 11:00am. Please bring the appropriate shoes for the turf and the gym floor. Have everything else that you will need to play rugby. Water, mouth guard, jersey, etc....
All players MUST be CIPP registered; this is not optional. If you show up without a number you will be sent to the library to do this and will miss part of the practice.
The eligibility is as follows:
· Collegiate Men The player MUST be full-time UNDER GRADS (unless they are the 5th year at the same school in grad school) at the time of the practices (spring 2010). You will have to fill out eligibility forms in April
· U-23 Women The player MUST be born in 1987 or LATER, ie: they can NOT turn 24 during 2010.
All players MUST be members of teams in GOOD STANDING of the Minnesota Rugby Union.
Players can NOT be at-large players as the Union dues/player fees of your clubs support this program.
All Minnesota Rugby Union teams are strongly encouraged to send players. This is "your" team, you pay for it and you should try to get on it - you will become a better player and your team will get better!

Directions: From 5th Avenue turn east on 11th Street S. Follow 11th Street to 4th Avenue, turn left into the parking lot. Halenbeck Hall is on the right. Parking The nearest public parking is the 9th Street/4th Avenue pay lot or the 12th Street/3rd Avenue metered T Lot. Street parking may also be available.
If you need to stay in the St. Cloud area please contact the St. John's/Ben's/Cloud players for billeting!

From the North (Red Wing and Lake City): Come south on Highway 61 along the Mississippi River. When entering Winona, turn left on Huff Street (WSU sign) and drive over the railroad tracks. Take the next right on Mark St. Drive about three blocks and turn left on Main street. The new construction is the new Recreation Center and Talbot. McCown Gyms are right beside the rec. Center. Enter the building from the Main Street entrance.
From the South (La Crosse): Come north on Highway 61 along the Mississippi River. Turn right at the first set of lights when coming into town (Mankato St.). Go through two sets of lights and turn left on Sarnia St. Drive about seven blocks and turn right on Main Street. Drive over the railroad tracks. The new construction is the new Recreation Center. Talbot and McCown Gyms are right beside the Rec. Center. Enter the building from the Main Street entrance.
From West on I-90 (from Rochester): Get off I90 at the Winona Exit. Take Hwy 43 to Winona (about 7 miles). Turn left at the first stop lights. Drive through four sets of lights and turn left on Sarnia St. Go about seven blocks and turn right on Main Street. Drive over the railroad tracks. The new construction is the new Recreation Center. The squads leave for the Midwest LAU tournament on Thursday the 22nd of April and return on Sunday! The men this year are in TIER 1 - woo woo! The women finished 2nd last year and will also be in Tier 1. Good news on both counts....but keep in mind the level that we hope to be playing at.
The practices will be intense, so plan to come and spend a tough morning with us. Please contact us with any questions regarding the 2010 MN Select Sides team.
